Physical Plant Lead

POSTION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this Lead position has oversight of the Holden Village Physical plant, skilled & unskilled operations staff, and the fleet of vehicles owned and operated by Holden Village Inc.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

(principal duties and responsibilities; such as categories supported, staff size, volume managed, etc)

  • Supervises Operations staff that have contact with Village infrastructure i.e. Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrician, Painter Heavy Equipment operation.
  • Tracks building and repair projects within the Village as executed by the Operations staff
  • Organize and prioritize vehicle use and upkeep in conjunction with Village mechanic
  • Assist Operations Manager in creating work priorities and schedules

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Specific knowledge and skills include but are not limited to the following:

  •  General knowledge of infrastructure systems embedded in the Village
  • Overall familiarity with the buildings that make up the Village
  • Ability to problem solve and come up with solutions in real time using available resources
  • Management and people skills to oversee a subset of the Ops staff +  perform evaluations
  • Driving credentials and  licenses to drive and organize the Holden transport fleet
  • General risk and safety management knowledge
