Coming to Holden Village has been a worthwhile experience and adventure for me. Being a medical professional in the “real world” can be challenging and draining at times. Living and working as a remote wilderness medic
has been deeply rewarding for me. It has allowed me to be in my favorite place (NATURE!) all the while doing what I love to do: helping people. I’ve found deep rest and respite here in the Village enjoying all it has to offer me as a member of the community, and a professional.
I enjoy working autonomously as a medic and utilizing my skills and knowledge to help serve the Village. Every day I have the opportunity to care for those I live and work with, and engage with them in meaningful ways. Because we live in such a remote location with limited resources, I get to manage and train a group of staff members to serve as the Village’s first response team. It allows me to make personal connections with my community through my passion for medicine, all the while teaching them the skills that will help us in various medical emergencies.
If you’re looking for meaning, peace, or a change of pace, and are excited about serving a unique and fun community of people, I would encourage you to apply for the wilderness medic position at Holden Village!
