Firefighter clear debris from around the Village

Update: 9/3/25

Holden Village closed to guests through September 25

The Chelan County Emergency Management has declared a Level 2 – Get Set Evacuation Advisement in response to the Martin Fire, which has been burning since August 27. While Holden Village remains out of immediate danger, we are not able to welcome guests while we are in a Level 2 Evacuation. As such, Holden is doing what it can to reduce its population. Staff capable of working downlake have been relocated, leaving only a small, dedicated crew to manage operations. Holden will be closed to all guests and visitors until at least September 25, 2025. We also will not be providing transportation for hikers arriving at Lucerne during this closure.

Programming

Some Village programming, including indigenous artists-in-residence and Fall Sojourn have been postponed. We hope to reschedule these events to a later date. Queer Renewal: Wilderness & Homecoming is still tentatively scheduled to begin September 26, but participants should be aware this is still a developing situation and dates are subject to change.

Trail closures

The Forest Service has closed all trails around the Village. Trails will remain closed at least until October 31. More information can be found on the Forest Service website.
