Teaching Faculty

Joan Lundquist

Joan Lundquist has served as a performer and church musician for more than fifty years, playing organ and piano, directing various instrumental and choral groups, and encouraging others. Now she is enjoying her fourth year of retirement, traveling to Missoula, Montana to spend time with her two adorable grandchildren, Mirabelle (almost 4) and her baby brother Milo (just turned 1), attending concerts in the Seattle area, playing piano for several area musicians and the Seattle Choral Company, and enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. As we know, the importance of paying attention to and being awed by the beauty of God’s creation and in the Human Arts is necessary for our spiritual, physical, and mental health. Singing in community is a gift that she holds dear; she will be sharing that love with you as she serves as guest musician in August. She looks forward to meeting folks who will be at Holden the first week of August and am excited about the prospect of creating new friendships through music.

Holden Village is a community where your questions are valued and encouraged. Most programs led by visiting teaching faculty occur during the summer months. However, Holden also invites faculty to teach sessions for special events and retreats throughout the rest of the year.
