This week will feature special, bi-lingual programming in partnership with Holden’s Latine community members, including Copa de Holden, a meal of community-made tamales, and a week-end fiesta. Check out the faculty offerings during the week. If you are interested in bringing a group for the week of Abriendo Caminos, please contact registrar@holdenvillage.org.
If you are not Latine, this week offers opportunities to learn from Teaching Faculty in Spanish and English, participate in bilingual Sacred Space, and appreciate and celebrate Latine culture with Holden’s Latine community members. We invite you to engage in some “homework” before your visit to expand your intercultural skills. Holden Village’s affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) provides the chance to become familiar with the ELCA Latino identity, the ELCA Latino Association, and the ELCA Latino Ministry Strategy, as well as Latine communities in your neighborhood in advance of joining for this special week.
Holden Village is a community where your questions are valued and encouraged. Most programs led by visiting teaching faculty occur during the summer months. However, Holden also invites faculty to teach sessions for special events and retreats throughout the rest of the year. Check out a list of the 2024 Summer Faculty.
