Holden Village is a remote wilderness community rooted in the Lutheran tradition, located in the North Cascade Mountains of Washington State. Once a historic mining town, Holden has become a vibrant center for education, renewal, and community life. We welcome people of all backgrounds to explore faith, ecology, the arts, and justice as we live, work, and learn together.

  • Enthusiasm for and ability to work in a remote wilderness setting
  • Commitment to serve Holden’s mission of welcoming all into the wilderness to form and renew their relationships with God, the earth, and each other
  • Embraces Holden Village’s work to cultivate a more just, sustainable, and compassionate world.
  • Commitment to participate in community life, including sacred space, staff meetings, and work of the village  (dish team, garbology, stoking, etc.)

Education

Holden Village is a community where your questions are valued and encouraged. Most programs led by visiting teaching faculty occur during the summer months. However, Holden also invites faculty to teach sessions for special events and retreats throughout the rest of the year.
