Building the Society We Deserve (Session 2)

April 23 @ 6:00 pm

In this three-part conversation, Paths to Understanding executive director Pastor Terry Kyllo and program director Hannah Hochkeppel invite participants to explore how faith, courage, and love of neighbor can help us move towards a society where everyone belongs and everyone can thrive.

Paths to Understanding is an interfaith nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community connections and promoting understanding across diverse backgrounds.

Session dates and times:

    • April 16th Go and Do Likewise: Following Jesus into Our Common Humanity In this session, Pastor Terry Kyllo introduces the core ideas of his book Go and Do Likewise: Following Jesus into Our Common Humanity. Drawing on Scripture, social research, and years of interfaith bridge-building, Terry explores why humans naturally form “in-groups” and “out-groups,” and how fear and power can turn those instincts into division and dehumanization.
    • April 23rd The Society We Deserve: Where Everyone Belongs and Everyone Can Thrive Many people today feel anxious about the future of our communities and our country. In this webinar, Pastor Terry Kyllo explores why division and distrust have grown so strong, and how forces in our media, politics, and economy often amplify fear between groups.
    • April 30th Strategies of Love: Where Do We Start? What would it look like to build a society where everyone belongs and everyone can thrive? In this webinar, Pastor Terry Kyllo explores a hopeful vision for our common life rooted in love of neighbor.
