Join the Teaching Faculty

Summer Teaching Faculty

For over 50 years, Holden Village has undergone a rich journey of faith. Transformed by volunteers and staff from a former copper mining town into a vibrant place of education, programs, and worship, Holden welcomes all who seek contemplation and community into the wilderness of the beautiful Cascade Mountains. Holden continues to invite people of all ages to engage in new rhythms, to be called, equipped, and sent for a sustainable life of faith outside the Village. We listen and reflect on our story and history and seek to discover our place and purpose in God’s creative mission around the world.

Teaching Faculty

Holden will be seeking teaching faculty for 2020 beginning in the spring of 2019. We seek candidates with expertise in theology and philosophy, environmental and social sciences, social justice issues, and the arts. If you are interested in serving on Holden’s teaching faculty, please consider submitting a proposal, which will be posted the spring of 2019. If you know someone who may be interested in teaching, please share the submission information with them.

We especially seek qualified candidates who seek to bridge gaps between peoples and who focus on the critical and essential issues of the United States and the world today including the issues of racism and discrimination. We aim to cultivate an exceptionally qualified teaching faculty of diverse faith backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, abilities, gender and sexual orientations, and ages.

Guest Musicians

We will also seek guest musicians who assist the long-term staff musician in leading the worship life of the Holden community. This primarily involves helping with worship services, but also includes special events and whenever else music can enliven the community's life together. If you are interested in serving as a guest musician on Holden’s teaching faculty, please consider submitting a proposal, which will be posted in the spring of 2019.

If you know someone you would like to see teach or serve as a guest musician, please share the submission with them and encourage them to apply.

If you have any questions about the process, please contact education@holdenvillage.org.
