Summer Teaching Faculty

For over 50 years, Holden Village has undergone a rich journey of faith. Transformed by volunteers and staff from a former copper mining town into a vibrant place of education, programs, and worship, Holden welcomes all who seek contemplation and community into the wilderness of the beautiful Cascade Mountains. Holden continues to invite people of all ages to engage in new rhythms, to be called, equipped, and sent for a sustainable life of faith outside the Village. We listen and reflect on our story and history and seek to discover our place and purpose in God’s creative mission around the world.

Teaching Faculty

Thank you for your interest in teaching at Holden Village as we establish an emerging program design. We will adapt to changing COVID contexts and update you as soon as possible.

We anticipate an unprecedented summer season and seek candidates who are flexible and open as well as experts in their field. The currently proposed summer schedule is described on the next page. The program will still include visual and performing arts, the sciences, theology, diversity, inclusion and racial justice, global and domestic topics, and more. Facilitators will be invited to engage a smaller community than usual.

Proposals will be reviewed by content, substance, audience engagement, alignment with Holden’s core values and the summer theme. The summer program design and selection team  will identify a diverse, dynamic, and balanced array of topics and perspectives. Our goal is to have a teaching faculty established by mid-February.

Deadline for Proposals: Friday, December 11, 2020

Guest Musicians

Thank you for your interest in sharing your musical talents at Holden Village as we establish an emerging program design. We will adapt to changing COVID contexts and update you as possible.

In the Village, Guest Musicians are a valued part of our faculty. Guest Musicians assist the pastors, Executive Directors, and long-term staff musician in leading worship and enlivening the community life through music. Held every day in a variety of styles and settings, worship is crafted around the gifts provided by the ever-changing Village community. Guest Musicians may also perform during special events in other ways according to their interests. The Village welcomes the sharing of music, both in and outside of worship settings, in whatever ways are most fitting for the musicians and guests present.

Proposals will be reviewed by musical experience, expertise, and leadership. Our goal is to have a faculty established by mid-February.
