Holden Village is a year-round community. Some people visit for just a few days, most for at least a week, and some stay for years. All are Villagers. All are embraced by the community, encouraged to share in meals, worship and the wide range of activities.
The Holden community includes a public school and a church congregation, Fullness of God, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. The arts are a rich part of everyday life at Holden, whether you want to participate or enjoy the performances and creations of others.
Whether in or out of the Village, Holdenites are a part of this global community. We stay connected with each other through this website, the Holden Voices meditations, the Be-Holden email newsletter, and our quarterly magazine, the Village Voice.
Everyone who comes to Holden eventually leaves, refreshed and renewed. We send each other out into the world with what has come to be known as “The Holden Prayer.”
O God, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
