Week of April 20 | Holden 2020 | Sustenance for our journey
Welcome to a New Kind of BeHolden
As an organization, Holden is taking steps to protect, as much as we are able, the safety of our staff, guests and community and to safeguard against the risk of COVID-19 spreading within our remote village. After considering the options we decided to close Holden Village to guests and visitors until August 31, 2020. We hope that this publication, BeHolden: All Things New can be a way to stay connected.
Over the coming weeks, we hope you will find creative nourishment as you explore the podcasts, audio archives, articles, and other forms of digital connection. By sharing these treasures we hope to begin a communal journey that will bridge the distance between us.
As we try to cope with the ambiguity of our current reality, there is one certainty that Holden Village holds: That you are a part of a strong and amazing group of people who will rise to the challenge. We are faced with no choice but to operate differently, outside of our comfort zone.
As we physically isolate and social distance ourselves in order to protect and love each other, we are reminded of humanity’s interconnected nature with the earth and recognize the dignity of all God’s creation. May you find strength as you lean in to the spirit of the universe and the God that sustains and holds us all in the light.
With good courage,
O God, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown. Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go, but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

This series, All Things New, will explore in part the conversation originally scheduled for summer. In this new world we all inhabit, may you find sustenance for your journey.
