Yesterday the glass panels arrived back in the Village after being sealed between panes of clear glass. They are currently resting in the south windows of the library waiting to be mounted in new Koinonia doors.

Construction of the windows was accomplished by Holden staff under the guidance of artist Joe Hester.

From picking out glass to leading and soldering, Joe’s patience, care for detail and expertise made this project enjoyable and very exciting!

People who may have never thought of this beautiful medium as a possibility learned quickly and -- with help from Joe in tricky spots -- completed beautiful panels. Soon they will be set into doors designed by Brent Diamond.

This project is the culmination of a process that began three years ago, and uses a symbol that has been around since the early days of Holden. If you’d like to know more, you can read the article in the recent Holden Village Voice.
