Holden Mine Proposed Cleanup Plan Released to the Public June 23, 2010
Hooray! Invitation for Public Comment has been extended through September 22, 2010. The Agencies are welcoming written and emailed comments from the public on what should be done to clean up the mine site.
Alternative 14 — The Preferred Alternative
The Agencies understand that Holden Village has concerns for the viability of its operations. Therefore, remedial construction which significantly constrains operations of the Village will be limited to 2 consecutive years. If there is a need for a second phase, there will be a 5 year pause after the conclusion of the first construction period.
The Agencies consider development of hydroelectric power generating capacity as part of the remedy to be highly desirable. Other electrical infrastructure could be developed as needed.
Holden says… Get it done, get it done quickly!

What It Means to Love and Be Loved by Frederick Niedner Exactly how do we fall in love with a demanding, wee little critter who turns us into sleep-deprived zombies, makes us question our competence and doubt our sanity?
