Financial Structure

John the BaptistHolden Village, and the Holden Village Foundation are both 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporations. Both organizations are led by a Board of Directors, who approve an annual operating budget of approximately $2.2 million. Registration fees fund approximately 75% guest expenses. There is an explicit intent to hold costs to a minimum, thus allowing maximum participation in the Holden program by all people through lower registration fees and varied volunteer opportunities.

Other sources of income include: bookstore net income, the Field’s Point Landing service center (under contract with the Forest Service) and other miscellaneous sources. Donations to the Koinonia fund, the annual fund of the Village, and the Advent and Pentecost appeals, in addition to the tremendous value of volunteer time and expertise support daily operations.

Holden has an unfunded capital budget of approximately $300,000 per year.
