Wilderness First Responder Course

CoronaVIrus (COVID-19) UPDATE

Holden Village is closed to all guests this summer through August 31st. All spring and summer events are cancelled, including the Wilderness First Responder Course. We will miss having a Village full of guests!

The spring and summer will look different than we all expected; however, we are energized by innovative ideas as we explore a different kind of Holden experience through the weekly email newsletter, BeHolden: All Things New.

Below is a description of the Wilderness First Responder Course that is offered during a typical year. Holden Village hopes to offer this event again in the future!

Wilderness First Responder Course

Taught by NOLS Wilderness Medicine at Holden Village

April 16-25, 2020

Come join us for an exciting and challenging course in the wilderness of the North Cascades of Washington. We have it all – mountains, rivers, trees, snow, wind, sun, remoteness – plus a comfortable bed and great food for when you’re tired after full days of learning, practicing, studying, and creatively solving problems with your fellow classmates.

This 80-hour course is the industry standard for professional guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoor recreationists, and international travelers. Certifications: Wilderness First Responder, Adult and Child CPR & Airway Management, and Epinephrine Auto-injector.
