We are pleased to welcome Monica Hurley and Anne Gintz to staff at Holden Village. Monica and Anne serve as the new Development team in charge of giving back to Holden. Together, Monica and Anne have 24 years of experience, serving in the annual giving and major gifts at Pacific Lutheran University, Habitat for Humanity, and Lutheran Community Services, and serving in a consulting role with agencies such including AYR, The Point Defiance Zoological Society, and Temple Beth El.

Monica HurleyMonica Hurley: Monica began her professional life at Pacific Lutheran University where she remained for 14 years prior to leaving full-time work to open a consulting practice allowing her the freedom to be more accessible to her young family. Her passion for reclaiming the word “stewardship” as a Biblical term, and a method of discipleship has opened doors for her to continue to encourage mostly religious-based organizations in their planning and implementation of stewardship-development plans for the past 4 years. A two-time graduate of PLU, Monica earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Master of Arts in Education plus an initial teaching certificate through the School of Education. In 2009 she completed the requirements for the Certified Financial Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification. Monica, her husband Rich, and their two children live in Bonney Lake, Washington where Monica serves on the executive board of the Southwestern Washington Synod Council; in various roles at her home congregation of Creator Lutheran Church; is a Rotarian (“Service Above Self” Awardee 2010); past board of governor’s member at Tacoma Lutheran Home where she is a current member of the Church and Community Relations task-force; and is past-president and an active member of the PTA.

Anne GintzAnne Gintz: In her role with Holden Village, Anne works with donors, churches and volunteers to connect them to the Village through gifts of time, talent and financial resources. During her visit to Holden Village in January, she embraced the passion of the Village through rest, renewal and a little bit of sledding with her family on Chalet Hill. When at the Village, you can find Anne near the tea cafe, sampling one of the many varieties, or in Narnia with her three young girls.

Most of Anne’s time will be spent out of the Village, visiting churches, communicating with donors and friends of Holden, and enjoying the peace of the Pacific Northwest from her home in Tacoma, Washington where she resides with her husband, Michael and their children. Most recently, Anne has served as the Volunteer Manager at Habitat for Humanity and the Director of Annual Giving at Pacific Lutheran University. Anne earned her B.S. from Washington State University and her Master’s Degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
